If you use Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter or other social media platform to administer or advertise your promotion, consult their respective Promotion Guidelines for directions and requirements.
Generally, these Guidelines require you to: comply with the laws applicable to your promotion (sweepstakes, contests, offers, etc.); provide legally compliant Official Rules or Terms and Conditions for the promotion; provide a complete release of the platform by each entrant or participant; and include a disclaimer that your promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, that platform.
Depending on the nature of your promotion, there may be additional legal requirements such as use of a specific hashtag, or disclosure of an influencer’s affiliation with your brand for example.
